Introducing ToraShaout — Zimbabwe's Celebrity Video Message Platform

ToraShaout is Statotech's flagship product. We built it to solve a real gap: fans across Zimbabwe had no direct way to get a personal video message from their favourite musician, comedian, or athlete.

What it does

A fan visits torashaout.com, picks a celebrity, writes their request, and pays via EcoCash, OneMoney, or card. The celebrity records a personalised video and it's delivered via WhatsApp within seven days. If the celebrity misses the deadline, the fan gets a full refund.

The technical build

ToraShaout runs on Next.js with a PostgreSQL backend. Payments are handled through a local payment gateway integration that supports both EcoCash and OneMoney — two wallets that cover the majority of Zimbabwean mobile users. We added dual-currency pricing so prices display in both USD and ZiG.
